ABOUT THE COMPANY


Through the Hollywood Foundation's My Education Pillar, the Future is Bright Bursary Programme empowers students nationwide by bridging the gap between high school and tertiary education.

The programme provides holistic support, equipping students with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to transition successfully into the world of work. By investing in education, Hollywood Foundation is committed to addressing South Africa's critical skills shortage and developing the country's future workforce.

 

The Foundation awards bursaries to qualifying applicants pursuing Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees (1st to 4th year), Honours, Postgraduate and Advanced Diplomas.

 

Preferred fields of study include, but are not limited to:

  1. Information Technology & Computer Science 
  2. Data Science
  3. Finance & Accounting and BCom (Law)
  4. Marketing (including Digital Marketing and Communications)
  5. Media & Communications
  6. Graphic Design
  7. Supply Chain and Logistics Management
  8. Project Management
  9. Business Management
  10. Human Resources Management
  11. Architectural Design

About The Bursary


This bursary is for the 2027 academic year. Applicants must be enrolled as full-time students in 2027 to be eligible.

 

What does the bursary cover?

For Relatives of Hollywood Group Team Members

  1. * Full funding for registration and tuition fees.
  2. * Accommodation and meals.
  3. * Prescribed textbooks, stationery and other study necessities (as approved by the sponsor).

For Hollywood Group Team Members (Employees): 

  1. * Full funding for registration and tuition fees.
  2. * Learning-material allowance, including prescribed textbooks and other approved study materials.

 

The final bursary benefits will be confirmed in the successful applicant's Bursary Award/Pledge Letter, issued and signed by the sponsor.

 

 Additional Conditions to Note:

  1. * The bursary is renewable annually, subject to satisfactory academic performance, student engagement and the availability of sponsor funding. Funding is reviewed each year and is not guaranteed for the full duration of the qualification.
  2. * Work-back obligation (applies to Team Members only):Team members are required to fulfil a work-back commitment equivalent to the period of funding received. Failure to do so may result in the repayment of the bursary benefits, together with interest at the prevailing prime lending rate.
  3. * Applicants and bursary recipients must disclose all relevant information accurately. Any applicant or recipient found not to be studying full-time, to have undisclosed paid employment, or to have provided false or misleading information during the application process, interviews or after the bursary has been awarded, may have their bursary withdrawn and may be required to repay all bursary benefits received.
  4. * Bursaries will be awarded in accordance with the organisation's Employment Equity Plan. 

Who Can Apply


Eligibility Criteria

The bursary programme is open to applicants who meet the following minimum requirements:

 

  1. Must be a South African citizen.
  2. Must be either:
    1.  A Hollywood Group employee; including employees of Hollywoodbets, BetSoftware, Hollywood Foundation, Race Coast (and other Hollywood Group entities/subsidiaries); OR
    2.  An immediate family member or relative of an employee of Hollywood Group or any of its related entities. (The employee you claim to be related to, will be required to verify the relation).  
  3. * Must be enrolled for full-time or part-time studies at a DHET/CHE-accredited public university or registered private higher education institution during the 2027 academic year.
  4. Must be studying towards a Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma.
  5. Grade 12 applicants must have obtained a Bachelor's Pass with a minimum overall average of 65%.
  6. Current tertiary students must have achieved a minimum academic average of 60% in their most recent completed academic year.
  7. Applicants must be studying in one of the following preferred fields:
    •   Information Technology & Computer Science
    •   Data Science
    •   Finance & Accounting and BCom (Law)
    •   Marketing (including Digital Marketing) and Communications
    •   Media & Communications
    •   Graphic Design
    •   Supply Chain & Logistics Management
    •   Project Management
    •   Business Management
    •   Human Resources Management
    •   Architectural Design 
  8. The following additional fields will also be considered (ONLY) for Hollywood Group Team Members: 
    1. Artisenal /Trade courses [For Race Coast KZN/WC Team Members only]
    2. Hospitality 
  9. Depending on the stage of the selection process, shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo screening, interviews and psychometric assessments.

    5. 2026 Final Year transcript Results [If you are already studying for a tertiary qualification]

     

For applicants under the age of 18, to comply with POPI regulations a signed consent form completed by your parent/legal guardian along with a certified copy of their proof of identity is required.
