The programme provides holistic support, equipping students with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to transition successfully into the world of work. By investing in education, Hollywood Foundation is committed to addressing South Africa's critical skills shortage and developing the country's future workforce.

 

The Foundation awards bursaries to qualifying applicants pursuing Higher Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees (1st to 4th year), Honours, Postgraduate and Advanced Diplomas.

 

Preferred fields of study include, but are not limited to:

  3. Finance & Accounting and BCom (Law)
  4. Marketing (including Digital Marketing and Communications)

Who Can Apply

The Future is Bright Bursary Programme is open to applicants who meet the following minimum requirements:

 

  1. Must be a South African citizen. 
  2. Must not be an employee of Hollywoodbets, or an immediate family member/relative of an employee of Hollywoodbets or its related entities, including BetSoftware, Hollywood Foundation, Race Coast and other Hollywood Group companies. Employees and employee relatives are required to complete a separate application form.
  3. Must be enrolled for full-time studies during the 2027 academic year.
  4. Open to 2026 matriculants, previous matriculants on a gap year, and students currently enrolled at a DHET/CHE-accredited university or registered private higher education institution. TVET College students are NOT eligible.
  5. Must be studying towards a Higher Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Honours Degree or Postgraduate Diploma.
    • The bursary DOES NOT sponsor Masters, PhD and other senior qualifications
  6. Grade 12 applicants must have obtained a Bachelor's Pass with a minimum overall average of 65%.
  7. Current tertiary students must have achieved a minimum academic average of 60% in their most recent completed academic year.
  8. Applicants must be studying in one of the following preferred fields:
    • Information Technology & Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Finance & Accounting and BCom (Law)
    • Marketing (including Digital Marketing) and Communications
    • Media & Communications
    • Graphic Design
    • Supply Chain & Logistics Management
    • Project Management
    • Business Management
    • Human Resources Management
    • Architectural Design

 

Depending on the stage of the selection process, shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo screening, shortlisting, interviews and psychometric assessments.

 

Additional Conditions:

  1. The bursary is renewable annually, subject to satisfactory academic performance, student engagement and the availability of sponsor funding. Funding is reviewed each year and is not guaranteed for the full duration of the qualification. 
  2. Applicants and bursary recipients must disclose all relevant information accurately. Any applicant or recipient found
    • to have undisclosed paid employment, or
    • to have provided false or misleading information during the application process, interviews or after the bursary has been awarded,
    • may have their bursary withdrawn and may be required to repay all bursary benefits received.

 

Bursaries will be awarded in accordance with the organisation's Employment Equity Plan.

This Bursary is for the 2027 academic year. You need to be studying full-time in 2027 to qualify.

    1. Certified copy of your valid South African identity document. 
    2. A 1-2 page statement clearly setting out why you have chosen your field of study, how you intend to use it after graduation. Also, explain any missing documents you couldn’t submit on time. [*] 
    3. Applicant Parent or Guardian Identity- Certified Parents/Guardian RSA ID (or non-SA Passport) or Death Certificate (if deceased) [*] 
    4. Proof of Household Income: Certified copy of SASSA docs or 3 months Payslips of parents/guardians (Company registration documents if Self Employed) - Please attach police affidavits confirming unemployment, if guardian/s are unemployed [*] 
    5. Disclosure of NSFAS History- Do you (or did you) get funded by NSFAS? Please upload all the funding confirmation contracts, letters or offers. [If not, submit police affidavit stating that you have never received NSFAS funding] [*] 
    6. Disclosure of Funding Sources- Do you (or did you) get funded by another bursary? Please upload all the funding confirmation contracts, letters or offers. [If not, submit police affidavit stating that you have never received funds from another bursary or funding award] [*] 

     

    Scholar in Matric (or gap-year after matric)

    1. Certified Grade 11 Report final year-end report (with official school stamp)
    2. Grade 12 latest (Term 2) school report - Certified (With official school stamp) 
    3. [IF APPLICABLE] A copy of the 2026 acceptance letter from an accredited institution. - Official letter showing you've been accepted (even provisionally) to study the qualification in 2026 [*]

    3. Latest Official Tertiary Costing (for 2026)- Latest Official University Fee Statements - If you have off-campus accommodation, please include your lease agreement [*]
    4. Certified Copy of 2026 Proof of Registration (if studying in 2026), [or police affidavit stating why the student was not schooling] 
    5. Certified Full Tertiary Academic Records (for all years of tertiary study, even if at multiple institutions), or police affidavit stating why the student was not schooling. [*]

For applicants under the age of 18, to comply with POPI regulations a signed consent form completed by your parent/legal guardian along with a certified copy of their proof of identity is required.
